Dev Log #8: Current Progress & What's Next

Few months into building Loomi, and it's time for an honest assessment of where we stand. The app has come a long way from the initial vision. We have a working digital closet, outfit builder, and a clean, modern interface. But there's still a significant gap between where we are and where we need to be.

The core functionality is solid. Users can add clothing items, create outfits, and navigate the app smoothly. The bottom sheet redesign in May was a game-changer for usability, and the bug fixes in June made everything feel more polished. But we're not ready for a public launch yet.

I work full-time as a software engineer, so I'm not able to dedicate a lot of time to this project. I'm not ashamed to admit, the progress has been slower than expected but it's getting there. I have some features I'd like to add in the following months as well as more bug fixes and UI polish.

What's after that? The focus shifts to user testing and feedback. We need to get Loomi into the hands of real users who can help us identify what's missing, what's confusing, and what's working well. The goal is to launch a private beta by the end of summer, with a public release following in the fall.

There's still a lot of work ahead, but the foundation is strong.
